Bio

Michael Bain brings more than a dozen years of experience working on complex public policy matters in Washington, D.C. He has most recently been developing and implementing advocacy campaigns for leading companies and trade associations across a variety of industries at Cozen O’Connor Public Strategies.

Michael previously served on the Democratic staff of the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee for nearly a decade, including the full committee staff, and for the Senate Appropriations Subcommittees on Transportation/Housing, Commerce, Justice, Science, Financial Services, and Energy and Water Development. Michael was involved in almost every aspect of developing and passing federal appropriations legislation and gained extensive experience working on Department of Defense (“DOD”) legislative issues, and worked closely with the Congressional Armed Services Committees, DOD, and the military services on defense policy.

Michael applies his extensive Congressional and private sector experience working on federal policy issues to help clients successfully navigate Washington’s legislative and regulatory environment, providing whole-of-government strategies that achieve favorable outcomes.

Michael earned his law degree from George Washington University Law School and his undergraduate degree in political science from Miami University.
